SR. SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Precision Aircraft Solutions, LLC and it’s subsidiary, Precision Engineering, are seeking to fill the position of  Sr. Systems Engineer.

Job Requirements:

·        B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace or aeronautical engineering

·        Minimum ten years of engineering experience primarily with Airbus products

·        Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office

·        Must work well with a team

·        Ability and willingness to travel, both foreign and domestic

·        Must be able to pass a background check 

·        Ability to communicate effectually with FAA, DERs, customers and co-workers

 

Job Duties: 

·        Prepare FAA certification documentation and reports in support of various company certification projects.  This may include, but are not limited to, certification plans, compliance checklists, supplements to aircraft manuals (Flight Manuals, Weight and Balance Manuals, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, etc.), test plans, test reports, substantiation reports, etc.                                    

·        Serve as a technical focal for engineers, customers, and technical personnel regarding complex aircraft system issues.

·        Provide technical expertise for trouble shooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action for aircraft systems failures which will include, but are not limited to:  pneumatics, hydraulics, water/waste, smoke detection, environmental control, cooling, oxygen, APU, and power plant.

·        Create and develop systems substantiation reports that will be used to certify modification or repair data.

·        Perform technical risk assessment of aircraft design and develop risk mitigation plans.

·        Develop systems drawings that will be used to manufacture, assemble, and install complex aircraft component or systems.  Analyze customer and project requirements and determine feasibility of design.

·        Design and plan system integration of existing or new equipment/components.

·        In coordination with Director of Engineering define system design performance metrics for capability, reliability, and maintainability.

·        Analyze and check systems engineering data produced by the engineering group to ensure that it meets the necessary/minimum requirements for FAA certification. 

·        Guide engineers and technicians/mechanics in the integration or repair of aircraft systems or components.

·        Provide technical guidance in the minimum regulatory and testing requirements for DO-160 environmental testing.

·        Approve engineering data as an Authorized Signatory within agreements established with the FAA ensuring data and approvals comply with these agreements.

·        Support on site requirements for aircraft modifications.  Support on site troubleshooting and resolution of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) malfunctions. 

·        Coordinate with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) and propose practical solutions on the development of technical data which will show compliance.

DESIGN ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly qualified design engineer to work in our Beaverton, Ore., location. This position reports to the director of engineering.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or aeronautical engineering
  • Minimum three years of engineering experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prepare accurate and concise hand sketches for design improvements
  • Ability to perform basic structural analyses
  • Fluency in aircraft fastener and material properties
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and general aircraft maintenance operations
  • Must be a self-starter who is adaptable, highly motivated, able to work under pressure, and can work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of aircraft design concepts, industry design standards, and FAA regulations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with FAA, DERs, and customers

FATIGUE & DAMAGE TOLERANCE ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly qualified stress engineer to work in our Beaverton, Ore., location. This position reports to the director of engineering.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or aeronautical engineering
  • Minimum five years of stress experience, preferably in commercial aircraft modifications
  • Proficiency in aircraft repair design and analysis
  • Ability to prepare accurate and concise hand sketches for repair or design improvements
  • Proficiency in MathCad, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office; Solidworks experience a plus
  • Ability to develop FEA using FEA tools (e.g., Femap) that support the design and certification of structural modifications
  • Fluency in AFGROW
  • Large aircraft experience in a MRO
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations/certification processes and related requirements
  • Experience working with FAA and DERs
  • Experience with STC modifications preferred
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and general aircraft maintenance operations
  • Ability to develop structural test plans for validating engineering analysis
  • Extensive knowledge of technical aircraft data such as engineering drawings, SRMs, MMs, SBs, and IPCs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must work well with a team — a critical component of this position
