SR. SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Precision Aircraft Solutions, LLC and its subsidiary, Precision Engineering, are seeking to fill the position of  Sr. Systems Engineer.

Summary:

The Senior Systems Engineer will own and support technical engineering projects related to aircraft systems. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will interface with cross functional groups (internal and external) to ensure robust, airworthy systems are configured which meet budget, schedule and internal requirements and goals. This position will be responsible for participating in and leading improvement activities at a company level. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Takes responsibility (technical and project management) for complex aircraft systems and their components

·        Provides leadership (technical and project management) to team of systems engineers

·        Reviews the work of other systems engineers for accuracy and completeness 

·        Provides guidance and training to other system engineers

·        Understands how various groups (engineering, production, program management, sales, manufacturing) work together and able to navigate through the company

·         Interfaces with internal and external customers as the technical point of contact for his/her system

·         Must be able to work independently and with little supervision to support system or sustaining engineering efforts

·         Approve, review, and process engineering changes in the development and in-service use of aircraft systems 

·         Perform research and/or testing for troubleshooting and presents system architecture changes for consideration

·         Able to interface with existing and new suppliers and OEM's

·         Other duties as assigned

·          Must work well with a team

·          Ability and willingness to travel, both foreign and domestic

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or aeronautical engineering

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prepare accurate and concise hand sketches for design improvements
  • Ability to perform basic structural analyses
  • Fluency in aircraft fastener and material properties
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and general aircraft maintenance operations

FATIGUE & DAMAGE TOLERANCE ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly qualified stress engineer to work in our Beaverton, Ore., location. This position reports to the director of engineering.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, aerospace, or aeronautical engineering
  • Minimum five years of stress experience, preferably in commercial aircraft modifications
  • Proficiency in aircraft repair design and analysis
  • Ability to prepare accurate and concise hand sketches for repair or design improvements
  • Proficiency in MathCad, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office; Solidworks experience a plus
  • Ability to develop FEA using FEA tools (e.g., Femap) that support the design and certification of structural modifications
  • Fluency in AFGROW
  • Large aircraft experience in a MRO
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations/certification processes and related requirements
  • Experience working with FAA and DERs
  • Experience with STC modifications preferred
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and general aircraft maintenance operations
  • Ability to develop structural test plans for validating engineering analysis
  • Extensive knowledge of technical aircraft data such as engineering drawings, SRMs, MMs, SBs, and IPCs
